Disneyland

DAY 2: JANUARY 19, 2010

I could not recall more about the night before because I was completely tired. Marjorie told me that after taking a shower, I positioned myself in bed and immediately fell asleep. Oh well, I was dead tired.

Day 2 was Marjorie's day. The only reason why she went to Hongkong was to see Mickey Mouse, her favorite mouse. Hihi. I was not that excited to visit Disneyland, I was thinking that it's just another park and I am no longer a kid. But because I had to grant her request, we were off to Disneyland park at around 9:30 am.

We took another train ride. I found it very cute because when I look at the MTR Map, there was an exclusive Disney Resort Line with the Mickey Mouse logo.

From the Tsim Sha Tsui Station, we rode the MTR Tsuen Wan Line to Lai King Station. From there, there is an interchange station to Tung Chung Line. We rode another train to Sunny Bay Station. From Sunny Bay, there's an interchange station to Disneyland Resort. And I couldn't believe what I saw! The train was soooooh Mickey! We rode the Mickey Mouse train as I termed it. Inside, you will see the Mickey Mouse shaped windows, hand rails designed with Mickey Mouse and there were bronze mini statues of famous Disney characters such as Donald Duck, Pluto and Snow White. The seats were comfy color blue and the Disney magical colors were everywhere.

After the train ride, we were in Disneyland and at that time, I already felt the magic. We thought that we were in a different world. I started to love Mickey Mouse and other Disney characters!

We walked a few steps and saw the Hongkong Disneyland Resort entrance. We were looking for entrance tickets and maps but it was a promenade upto the Mickey Mouse Fountain ( I don't know what it is called).

After a few pictures, we headed to the main entrance and paid our park tickets. One ticket was worth 350 HKD each.

We were so excited to go inside and the first attraction was the Main Street Castle. We didn't miss to take a picture. The castle includes a train station- The Main Street Train Station.

Looking at our maps, we have found out that the theme park consists of four theme lands- Main Street (where we were at that point), Fantasy Land, Adventure Land and Tomorrow Land. We figured out that in each theme land, there is a train station. We did not know where to go first out of excitement so we just talked it out to take it slow, look and walk around. While looking around, we saw Mickey and Minnie Mouse mascots. The queu was very long and the sun was up but we decided not to miss the chance for a photo shoot with the golden couple.

When it was our turn to shake hands with the couple, the mice had to take a break. Nabitin kami! When they went back, I giggled!!!

Hello Mickey and Minnie! I love you both now!!!

After the picture taking which was very first time for me, we decided to discover more of the Main Street. There were restaurants, shops and booths, but we first took our breakfast. We tried the Corner Cafe. One complete meal costed us 95 HKD each. The meal was not superb but it was also not bad.

We went back to discovering the park and saw the different modes of transportation such as the Paddy Wagon and the taxicab.

At that time, I was already distracted by the Sleeping Beauty Castle. It was so beautiful. I invited Joy in and realized that as we walked through the portal, we will be in Fantasy Land where more enchantment followed.

I saw not only the fairy tales came into life but also the different Disney cartoons that I was watching.

We first visited Winnie the Pooh's house and journeyed inside the Hundred Acre Wood. I was like a kid laughing my heart out after the journey.

The Mickey's Philarmagic was next. We wore our 3D glasses to watch more Disney magics.

I was so full of amazement at that time and Joy invited me to ride the train. We headed to the Fantasy Land Train Station. The major problem we encountered was- we were always stuck in a long line. But it was worth the wait.

The train took us around the entire park and gave us a glimpse of what to expect in each theme land. The ride helped us to plan where to go next.

When we were down in the same station, we thought of going immediately to the Adventure Land to have more adventures there.

The Jungle River Cruise was the first stop. I super duper enjoyed the cruise with all the special effects. Too bad, the cruise guide was speaking in Chinese.

I saw the Tarzan's Tree House and decided to go there after. Soon after, we rode another raft to Tarzan's Island. We looked all over the Tarzan Island and noticed how beautifully the theme park was made. Every details were conceptualized! I salute you guys! We climbed the tree house and what I saw from up there was breath taking. Ang ganda! I could live there! Sariwang hangin!

After the tree house trip which was my personal favorite, the Lion King Festival was about to start. On time lang kami!

The festival was indeed a celebration and merry making of Simba and friends with dance, puppetry, music and special effects.

It was late in the afternoon when the show finished so we opted to head to Tomorrow Land. Tomorrow Land was indeed futuristic. I saw Autopia and Buzz Light Year but I insisted to try the Stitch Encounter.

We again lined up for the show but I didn't mind because I heard that Stitch Encounter is a must-see. I later found out that Stitch Encounter is an interactive show in the Space Traffic Control Room. Stitch was really talking and joking with us! I giggled while watching him and I want to play with his cheeks. Stitch became my ultimate Disney favorite character!

Tired at that time, we planned to go back or sit somewhere but we saw the It's a Small World Castle. We entered the palace and took a ride around to watch miniature small dolls wearing each countries' national costumes and singing the It's a Small World song in their own national language. We were waiting for the Philippine miniature dolls and it was there singing the song in Tagalog. Nakakaaliw, the dolls were wearing our "  saya"   and there was a tarsier on the side. Hehe. Bida bidang tarsier!

It was already dark after the ride and we hurried to watch The Golden Mickeys show. Medyo pagod na ako at that time and pa-lowbat na rin ang aming 2 cameras. We saved our batteries for the fireworks display in the Sleeping Beauty Castle.

The Disney in the Stars, a magical fireworks display started at around 8pm. We were kinda late that's why we didn't get a good spot. The Disney music "A Whole New World" made the fireworks and pyrotechnics more dazzling and magical. I really felt I was in a different world and that I was a princess in gown, in my castle, although I didn't have a prince. This is one experience that shouldn't be missed.

It was late already and realized that it's time to go home.

We left the theme park singing the Disney songs. It was magical. I really felt the magic! And I can say that it is not just another theme park. It is one of the happiest places on Earth.

Thank you Disneyland! You truly made me happy!
